After six years I turned on my reciver this morning and got nothing out of it. Last night it was working fine. It lights up and turns on but nothing from any source.(Blue Ray, TV, CD, ect.) I tryed to reset it with the tone button but still nothing. The repair store recomended from HK down in Salt Lake City wants 200-250+ to fix it. Anyone have any ideas? THANKS Ty

Sorry about the rec'r but you can get a much better used rec'r for that money than an H/K AVR 135. I would keep an eye on eBay stuff with the nearest first filter on and ask the sellers if local pick up is okay to avoid shipping costs and risk of shipping damage.

If you can up the budget there are some entry level rec'rs out there for not too much more that will handle HDMI and BR audio.

Thanks for the info Alex2507. I would like to fix the unit if possible. There's no chance it can just be a fuse if the reciver turns on right? Any way it can be a short with a speaker wire? What are you refering to in respect to BR audio? The reciver has a current dolby and dts digital decoder. Paid arround 2x what they want to repair it so that would be about my budget for a new reciever if needed.

The Blu-ray audio thing is explained here:

That rec'r today is worth maybe 100 bucks. I have an H/K AVR 430 that I paid ~ $600 for around 6 years ago. It's a little more powerful than yours, has 8 channel analog inputs and pre outs. Today it's worth about $150. I bought an Onkyo rec'r recently of a similar vintage with a similar feature set but with more power from a pawn shop for $120. I'm just saying that fixing an AVR 135 for $200 doesn't make sense financially when you could buy something more powerful with more features for less money.

It very well could be a fuse that has blown inside your rec'r. The problem is that more than likely something made your fuse blow. That's the part I've never been able to figure out and once that starts happening it's always been toast in my experience.

A ways back Audioholics did an article on entry level Pioneer rec'rs I believe. Look around their main page under Pro Reviews for other options but here's the article on the Pioneers:
