So you shouldn't use a 2-ohm speaker if there is no 2-ohm tap? Sounds like bad engineering to me. :) :) I wouldn't say it's bad, but for consistency and accuracy I would stay away from tubes. They can be accurate, some are, e.g. McIntosh's but still high maintenance relatively speaking. For people who like the sound signature of some specific models then they are in luck.
