.....ok, you already own the speakers, and it's time to upgrade your receiver....I would go for the receiver that you feel supplies the options that would serve you best "before" amping, ie-the pre-amp/processing sections....I would agree with your reasoning of "why not" have two extra amp sections were you to try and like bi-amping the front speakers at 5.1....and, you would then also have the option of adding two rear speakers and powering them with the 7.1 receiver later....rear speakers bring the front soundstage closer, and that could not be a bad thing in my view....if the receiver you choose doesn't power those KEF speakers adequately with rears added for 7.1 at louder levels, and you are a louder level listener, you can always add a few channels of slave power to the fronts, or wherever....the Denon 3805/3806 are very good receivers no doubt, as many here own them, but I might consider the Harmon Kardon 635 also, from threads I've read here....it's now time for someone else to chime in, to help you decide on a receiver that would serve your pre-pro/amping needs best....how ironic, that I have attempted to help you concerning bi-wireable/bi-ampable speakers, and a surround receiver, when I've never owned either, haha....but, certain principles apply, no matter what or where the application....happy listening, Sir.......

If the intent is to definitley acquire the 7ch amp, then what you use as a processor is completely up to you. With the 7ch amp, you would do the wiring for biamping between the receiver and amp, so the processor doesn't know anything about it.

Thank you for that. So my original question was if anyone knew of a processor that would allow that function (assignable audio outputs). I know the Parasound Halo Series does. My concern is how can I get a second set of front signals to channels 6 & 7 of the amp?

Use 2 rca y-adapters from you front pre-outs, then connect each to two channels of your amp .
