Pre-Wiring for a Powered Subwoofer - ????

I'm in the process of wiring my movie room prior to drywall and I've read I should pre-wire locations for at least 2 subwoofers. Well, I'm not sure what type of wires I should run for my woofers and I don't know where they should be located.
Any input on what wires I need and where the optimal location would be?
I have a 25(L)x14(W) upstairs room I'm working on.
Thanks.

I ran 4 locations with quad shield RG6. A jack each to the front main areas (because I have Def Techs with powered subs). 1 1/3 way back on the right wall (facing the screen) and 1 2/3 way back on the left wall. It also depends on how subs you plan on running in the future - i.e. 4 subs, put 1 jack in the middle of each wall. Good luck - see what some other people suggest.

If you are going to use the line-level input on the sub (marked line-in or LFE) then you'd need a coxial cable with RCA connectors on each end. You can buy a cable specifically labeled 'subwoofer' but it is reallly the same old coax cable used for composite video or digital coax.

You could also use RG6 coax (the type used for cable TV) if you terminate it with RCA connectors. I just discovered that my house has an unterminated RG6 between the wall with the audio components and another wall where I could place the subwoofer. I think I am going to try that instead of running another cable in the wall or around the baseboards.

It depends on which wall you'll be using long or short and left or right corners but if you put on either corner then the other sub will be about 1/4 lenght away from the opposite back corner. Got it ? Cheers.
