I would like to know how the pre out center (Center Channel) works. Basically I'd like to add a center channel from my existing HT and since I only have a 1 center output, is it possible to use the pre out center for another center speaker? if not, then what do you suggest.

Thank you, your immediate response on this matter will be highly appreciated.

Pre-outs send a line level signal and that signal must be amplified. Typically the pre-outs are used to connect an external amplifier to power the speakers instead of using the receiver's amplifiers.

You would need at least a monoblock (one channel) amplifier to use the center pre-out of the receiver to power the center channel speaker.

And, the corresponding center channel couldn't be used. If you wanted two, you would use the single center pre-out with a Y connector into a 2-channel amp.;)

Wait! Why do you need 2 center speakers?
To have a stronger mid range cause what I'm experiencing right now is the mid range gets drowned even if I set the center speaker volume to the max.

Agarwalro hit the nail on the head.

It sounds like something's not right, since around 80% of a DVD soundtrack comes from the centre. If you're not hearing the centre, even when its own Level is at maximum, I'd be looking to determine what the problem is first. A second centre channel is unlikely to be the solution unless your current centre is somehow faulty (which itself is unlikely).

Just out of curiosity, what receiver are you using?

It's not really that you can't hear anything but I"m just not comfortable as if it's not enough, maybe I want something more like a life-like effect.

Center channel

You might find that one good center channel speaker would work better then two poorly performing center channel speakers. Also experiment with location and positioning of your existing center channel to see if you can improve fidelity.
