I am thinking of adding a Amp to my HT system. Looking out the manual for my receiver I could not find any techincal information about the Pre-out section. So I ask Onkyo, the reply was " the pre-outs on this this Amp are less than 1 volt". My question is, what information do I need to insure the amp pre-out section of my reciever will operate the additional Power Amp fully and correctly ? Or would I be better off buying a pre-pro and power amp ?

Reciever: Onkyo TX-SR875
Possible New Power Amp: XPA-5 Emotiva 5 channel power amp

Thanks, for any help, maybe someone already has used a onkyo and added a power amp . I would appreciate any feed back.

You won't have any issue running a consumer amp with the Onky. That's why the pre-out section is there.

The only time you may run into an issue is with a pro amp.
