Seriously, I have no life.
Ups

They are not forthcoming of specs on that unit, are they?

APC make first class stuff. They have just come out with a line just for home theater. Here is a respectably sized unit.

They used to sell good refurbished units from their site. Now they are selling these through dealers.

I have used UPS for less and have purchased two 1400 KVA units and one 1000KVA unit from them. They are excellent. I don't believe you have good protection without a battery. In surges the units switch instantly to battery and there is no on off thump to delicate equipment. They run for a reasonable time before powering down. Because I'm in a remote area I have a large auto start generator. Mine has to go long enough for the generator to kick in. These units smooth the generator spikes fine, and they are certified for generator use.

I'm thinking of buying this unit from Woot. Does anyone have any objections as to why I should not. I'm really not to familiar/educated when it comes to power conditioning/surge prtection/UPS etc...
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Triplite UPS

I picked up one of the Triplite Omni 1000 UPS from costco about a year ago for $100. I actually use it for my PC equipment but it should also work for HT. I had a minor issue with my unit, the LCD stopped working and they shipped me a brand new one.

Tripplite and APC are good companies but I have never heard of the product in question.
