I'm shopping power cords for my receiver and sacd player. My question is should I plug them into my surge/conditioner or into the wall. The reason I ask is that the cords have filters as well as the surge/conditioner. Will this double filtering damp down sound too much. MY surge,Panamax 5300 does a fine job,but I'm in the tweeking stage now and have been swapping interconnects in and out looking for that last bit of detail. Little help guys.

You should be cautious with exotic power cords as some can be more harmful then good. Filtering should be done at the outlet and in the hardware, not the cord! Unless the stock cord of your CD player is broken, there is little reason to change it.
