Power cord for subwoofer

Hi, I have a noob electrical question.

The power cord of my subwoofer is missing. I'm trying to buy a replacement. But I could not find a manufacturer(Polk)-recommended product.

I have attached the picture of the back of my subwoofer.

How to buy a power cord that works with it? If you already recommend a product, that would be great too.

What does the plug look like for where the cord plugs in?

Does it look like most other IEC plug/outlets? I bet if you have an extra computer power cord or similar... it will be just fine.

Before you try something lying around the house, hit us back up so we can help you make certain it is the appropriate gauge. (Likely it will be.)

Those power cords used to be common on audio equipment, but not so often now. They are used on a lot of medical devices and also things like shavers, and other hand held appliances.

They are often used on CPAP machines. So here is what you need, which is sold for CPAP machines, but will meet your needs just fine.

Two steps-

Step 1) Find a power cord that fits.
Step 2) Buy it. Or, if you have a small device that no longer serves a purpose and you can use its cord, do that.

There's no such thing as a high end power cord with that type of end.

That type of power inlet has nothing to do with wire gauge- they go to about 16ga and that's all. No big wire, nothing fancy, just a power cord.

That's what I often hear to, and refer to myself, as a 'figure 8' type power cord. If you look at the end of it, it looks like the number 8.

If it is flat on one side, I call it a flat figure 8 power cord.

If it has hot, neutral, and ground, and follows the same format, it looks like Mickey Mouse, so that is easy to call out as well, but harder to find.

The most standard power connector is the D-type which is on most monitors, TVs, electronics, and computers. Also called an IEC cable, but IEC is a ton of standards, not just a single cable. Still, the D power cord, or the IEC cable is most common.

Yours? Just a standard figure 8 power cable. Tons are out there. Do not overspend!!!
