Power Conditioner - Tripp Lite HT10DBS

I was reading in the Audioholics Home Theater System Guide and they recommend the Tripp Lite HT10DBS as a power conditioner/surge suppressor. Is this really a good product to buy? I know the price is good at around $80. Is it better than the Monster conditioners?

I am also interested in the performance of this unit. Will there be a noticable difference in the audio or video quality over just a regular surge protector? Thanks for you help

I own their top of the line HT bar..the Powerbar 10. I don't think these things work at all. The lights look pretty, so my girlfriend thinks. waste of money. I tried hooking up my cablevision to it..made my reception WAY worse than direct to the TV. We see lightning maybe once a year where I live. Maybe less. i have seen lightning maybe 5 times in my 37 years. It might be doing something but i don't know for sure so that makes it a waste.
