To the stock power cord fan club, there is still no scientific equipment on the planet that can equal two ears and brain ( I actually didn't make that up, Floyd Toole said that).
I eagerly await your review of of an after market power cord you have actually auditioned.
I have posted based on my experience and the experience of other third parties. I have provided links for you to actually LISTEN to something other than those dreadful stock cords.
When you have some relevant experience I would like to hear about it, good or bad. Thank you.

I have a non "stock" power cord in my system right now and it has been in my various systems for years. Guess what? No difference is perceptible in any of them. So I've tried it and PROVED to myself there's no benefit. Am I also mistaken? Fancy power cords = total BS.

Guys, these vendors offer a No Risk 30 Day audition

What part of No Risk don't you understand?

I look forward to your audition results in the Cable and Power Conditioner forum.
The risk is that I lose my valuable time! In fact, it isn't a risk at all, it is a certainty that I will lose my valuable time.

Go back to post #26 and let's hear your counter-argument for each of my points.

It's comical that you just completely ignore that post, you know the most useful post in the entire thread.

The Cable Co. has this power cord: http://www.thecableco.com/Product/Avatar-II
for "only" $16,950.
I can audition it for almost 2 weeks with non-refundable deposit equal to 5% (in this case $847) o_O of the value of the products you are borrowing will be charged to the your credit card when we ship the products to you. This deposit is not refundable. All this for a 3ft cord that's not worth $50:p

I used to think power cables made no difference, but one day as I was listening to my music, I realized how congested the dynamics sounded on my system. I tried everything to fix it, all kinds of different speakers, amplifiers, pro-pros, room treatments, source players, you name it- nothing seemed to help! But then a peculiar idea struck me, and I had nothing to lose by trying it, so I gave it a go.

I simply removed the insulation from the power cable, and tried to listen to some music in that configuration. Lo and behold, it worked! The music flowed freely, and many of my favorite classics sounded as though I were listening to them for the first time! It was as if a veil was lifted from my system, and for the first time I could clearly hear the music with no aural occlusion!

Oh, of course one must be careful when using uninsulated power cables with hundreds of watts flowing them, and this is where I took inspiration from the overhead electrical cable running along the roads: I simply suspended the cables in the air with tautness from outlet to amplifier. At its lowest sag I have almost an inch of clearance from cable to carpet, so I should be fine, and the boost to sound quality is well worth the minor risk.

Anyway, instead of buying a fancy power cable for your music, I recommend everyone simply remove the insulation from the power cable and see how it sounds that way. I can pretty much promise that it will open a whole new world of fidelity to the listener!

Don't forget to use aluminum like the PoCo does.:)

Shady is so right! It opens up a whole new world of possibilities for electrocution of people and animals, the possibility of civil and criminal penalties, a new way to burn your house down while invalidating your home owners insurance policy, and numerous other possibilities for making one's life more exciting.

One technical caveat, the power conductors do not carry hundreds of watts in the event the circuit is shorted by, say, human legs. The conductors will more likely carry hundreds of amperes for a tenth of a second or so until the circuit breaker trips, giving a new meaning to a shocking experience.

I'm sure the sound quality will be much improved too, but enjoying it from prison or the grave is difficult. :)

Not gonna happen. As I posted earlier, when someone "listens" to their cables, power cords and other hardware that's not even in the signal path, they're not listening to the music. When the person knows something has changed, they're easily fooled into thinking that the difference is positive. When logic is used, these items have no value and serve no purpose. A fancy, new power cord will not make the electricity better. If that Maple wall plate doesn't have some kind of foil on the back, it doesn't meet the National Electric Code because combustible materials aren't allowed inside of a junction box that's used for an energized circuit.

I can make the wooden bases and have the brass slugs turned for a lot less than $395 but I'm not putting my power unit on one because it's screwed into my EIA rack and that weighs a lot more.

Good luck in your windmill tilting endeavors. :D

Are those JBL subwoofers? I haven't seen those since 1988! Those kick butt!
Well, one is an original, the other is a copy but now both have modified drivers and ports in the same box.
