Posting photos question

Whenever I try to post a photo here that was taken by my phone, the resolution is too large and it doesn't post. I get around that by posting it on bookface, downloading it (then I usually delete it for bookface), then using that download to post here. There has to be an easier way! Anyone give me a clue? Thanks.

Phone? When selecting a photo to attach, can you resize it before attaching it?

I'm not sure what the actual max limit on photos is here offhand, but I have been resizing mine to 1280x(whatever aspect works out to on crop) and jpg quality 8 and that seems to work.

Resize, yes. As in crop? I usually do that anyway, but it doesn't change the resolution or the size of the file enough.

I meant type of phone. When a photo is too large to attach, I can change the size of a photo in my iPhone by changing from the "Actual" size of the file to "Large," "Medium" or "Small."

I'll see if I can do that next time. I have an Android phone.

You can also install Imgur app, Add images on the phone there and post the link to the image on imgur

Tapatalk app has some photo resizing capabilities if just using a phone. If you've downloaded photos from your phone to a pc, you can right click on the pc file and use the edit feature into Paint which has a resize option (I usually do 30%)

Many just used a hosting service but there was a major failure with one of those services a few years ago and now many corrupted "photos" as a result in several fora I've used.....

From my experience this site will accept any picture size smaller than 1 MB.
