I am trying to build a Ported Subwoofer box for 2 Square 15" Hifonics
Here are the specs for the 15" Subs
Ideal Sealed Maximum Box Volume cubic feet : 2.5 cu. Ft.
Ideal Sealed Minimum Box Volume cubic feet : 2.5 cu. Ft.
Ideal Vented/Ported Maximum Box Volume cubic feet : 3.0 cu. Ft.
Ideal Vented/Ported Minimum Box Volume cubic feet : 3.0 cu. Ft.
Impedance : Dual 2ohm
Peak Power Handling Watts : 1000 Watts
Recommended Enclosure Type : Vented Or Sealed
RMS Power Handling Watts : 500 Watts
Sensitivity (dB) : 89.48 dB
Shallow Mount : No
Sub Shape Design : Square
Subwoofer Size : 15 inches
Surround Material : Rubber
Top Mounting Depth : 6.81"
I am using TWO of the same amps to power these subs at 4ohms.
Here are the specs to the AMP(HiFonics 1000.1D)
RMS Power Rating:
4 ohms: 475 watts x 1 chan.
2 ohms: 750 watts x 1 chan.
1 ohms: 1000 watts x 1 chan.
Frequency Response: 15-250 Hz, 3dB
Damping Factor: >200
Signal-to-Noise Ratio: > 95 dB
THD & Noise: <0.1
Variable Input Level Control: 0.2V-6.0V
Input Impedance: 47kohm
Variable Low-Pass(Mono 24dB): 30-250 HZ
Variable Subsonic Filter: 15-35 Hz
Bass Boost@45Hz: 0 ~ 10 dB
Powet Terminal: 4-GA
Speaker Terminal: 12-GA
Fuse Size: 80A x 1
Dimensions(L x W x H): 13.46" x 8.82" x 2.4"
Box Maximum Size
Length no deeper than 17"
Width no wider than 50"
Height no taller than 25"
I already have a design in mind. But as far as being a possible good design I have absolutely no idea what is good and what is bad.
Nor do i know anything about frequency's and box sizes and how they effect each other.
So if someone could help me out here i would greatly appreciative, as i have the amps and subs just no box to put them in! its killing me not hearing these bad boys hit.
