poor bass from sub Help!

ok iv got a nice home theater system from crutchfield not long ago. primus 250's and a external sub 100 watts. will when i watch a dvd movie and the system up loud the bass out of that sub is kinda blah. i have the sub in the corner. but when i play music it works fine.
any ideas?
or i just need to get better speaker cables? hope i found the right area of the forums.

oh for the speaker wires im useing the stock wires that came with the system.

a second way to help to add one of these on the end of your sub cable, if your sub sill take a left and right input. it give a little bit better response for a very minor investment (technically you're giving the sub more signal, so for the same level of volume you set on the sub, you get a little more volume). they make a cheaper one, but it wasn't showing in on-line stock, so you might ask your local dealer.

cool thanks for the info i m kinda new to ht cause my uncle got me into it lol anyway thanks. ill check thos out. :) for got one thing when i turn off the sub and put the front mains to larg cause they have a built in sub. anyway they put out more bass that the exsternal sub. :cool:
