This sounds much more impressive than it is, I would often sell my old equipment to buy new.
(i.e when I sold my CC-690v3 I sold it for $975.00 and bough the V5 for $1200 so not a lot of expense)
My dealer was also good about letting me trade stuff early on for full price within 6 months for upgraded gear. (Speakers, AVR, Blu Ray)
So about $44,200, which included a lot of upgrades and sales on audiogon, so its really not that impressive. That and 55/60 in TV's used to cost a lot more back then
