Anyone have any input on these speakers? I found a set used and they seem like a nice bang for the buck, but I don't know anything about them.

Don't know anything about them, but if you have the chance to audition them first, that would be the best thing to do.

I used to own the Polk Rt35i which (even though they were bookshelves) I believe used the same tweeter and 6.5" driver. I also had a Polk sub (10"). I wasn't impressed with either the tweeter or the sub. The midrange was pretty nice as I remember. I sold them about 3 years ago. I felt the highs were a touch rolled off and I'm not a fan of "warm" sound I suppose. I'm very happy with my PSBs connected to a Sony ES receiver, which some would say sounds bright (although not Klipsch bright :)

The sub I just couldn't ever get to sound right even after repeated attempts to locate it and use an AVIA disc and an SPL meter. Now, the fact that you would have 2 subs essentially might help with the integration issue quite a bit.

Again, the best advice is to go listen and see what you think. Lots of people love Polks. It does sound like a good deal if you like the sound.

You don't see too many of those particular Polks. But there are a few owners on Polk's board.

Post the question in the vintage speakers section & you will get your answer.

Mark, slightly OT, my concern would be that you're already using a DT center so the Polks may not be a good timbre match.

It was basically a RT55(55i) on top of dual, powered subwoofer enclosure. There were later versions, although they were slimmed down a little.

They are one of the better series from that decade and have a decent reputation amongst the older Polkies because it actually sounded pretty good. I think the bass is a bit bloated and can get boomy but the entire series sold very well historically.
