Hi all. Im new to the board but have been reading forums for a few weeks now. Im on a budget so I'm looking for the absolute best bang for my buck for a home receiver (600-800.00 max).

The speakers that I have are the Axiom epic 80 - 500 home theater speakers for which I've owned for many years. Heres a link http://www.axiomaudio.com/epic-80-500-home-theater-system (with 2 sub-woofers) . Unfortunatly I've been powering them with a sony 2000es. The dvd that I currently have is a denon 2200. Tv is a Vizio 50 inch razor edge led.

Now I'm looking at 5 receivers at the moment that happen to be on sale. 1)YAMAHA AVENTAGE RX-A820 2) Pioneer SC-1222-K 3) Yamaha YAMAHA RX-V573 4)Onkyo TX-NR717 5) Onkyo TX-NR809.

Keep in mind I'm 95% into home theater sound( I want that movie theater sound) and not as concerned for music and not really worried about other features.

I may also be adding 2 more speakers for the 7.2 expierience but for now staying at 5.2.

Please help me chose a receiver that fits my system and my likes best.

Also a good blu ray player compatable for this system? Besides a 500+ oppo.

Thanks very much for just taking the time to read this.

Your main concern should be finding a receiver that can handle those towers.

When the manufacturer points specifically states (in parentheses) they are four ohm and recommends a separate power amp, you know you're in the big leagues now. They also sugest you call them for receive recommendations. That might be a good place to start.

As for a Blu-ray player, they are pretty much commodities nowadays. HDMI passes a great picture and sound and digital outputs pass sound as well so that's a non-issue with them. That's the receiver's function and they all do pretty good nowadays.

You can get good, feature laden, Blu-Ray players from around $100 up that have pictures on par with much more exoensive units, and lotsa streaming features thrown in. I've got two Sonys that I love and they work great.

OUt of them I think the best amp section is the d3 in the 1222k... I just like this avr and for $500 why not...

Ok guys so far so good. I went with the Pioneer SC-1222-K from New egg for 479.00. I also picked up a used Pioneer Elite BF62 blu ray player from Ebay for 140.00. I'm Still playing around with the set up for the receiver as for me its new and complex. I am very happy with the video and the audio is super clear and clean.

Now I have the 2 main speakers Bi-amped for now. It is basically double the sound that I was running before. However there is still more room for additional power to these front two 4 ohm speakers. So I'm thinking about a 2 channel amp to power the 2 fronts. Now budget is key here for me. Currently I'm looking at a few different Samson servo power amps(used) on ebay in the 150-200 range as well as Behringer A500 brand new for 229.00. I would like to get the best for what my price range is. I'd prefer to be right around the 200.00 range but will go to 300.00 max if its a big enough difference. So once again a little expert opinions is needed. Thanks again
