i have been searching google for any info about the basic thing i'm trying to do but i can't find all the info if my life depended on it.

Denon 3805 AV Receiver
Current set-up: 6.1 home theater

GOAL: use the multi-zone for multiple backyard (rock speakers)

Questions:

1. how do i wire it?
2. i know i need an amp to power it so what should i buy?
3. i would like to put a lot (6-8) of rock speakers back there. Is this possible?

I really don't want to go to those AV retail stores that does custom install because they will charge an arm and a leg. I am good enough to follow technical instructions. I think i can do all the wiring if i get some help from you guys. Thanks again.

Welcome to the forum!

How many speakers would you like to run at the same time?

[As a note, you don't need to post this in multiple subforums.]

i would like to keep the 6.1 on my HT

then,

i would like to put rock speakers in my back yard.

If i can put at least 6 and at most 8, i would be really happy. It will be placed on different areas of the back yard and side yard (court yard) so i there's a way to shut off some and turn on some or play all of them if there's guests, then it would be better.

I heard that denon has a ipod dock so i plan on using that, my other dilemma is that the dock has to be inside the house so i have to keep going inside the house to change music and go outside to enjoy it.

Maybe someone here can also give me an advice on it.

Thanks again everyone.

I know there was a purpose for buying the 3805 a few years back. I just had to make use of the multi zone now. If i can figure it out.

BTW, are there speakerwires that are rated for outside the house only? If not, do i have to wrap them in some sort of element proof tube for being outside?

outside speakers

You can most certainly buy speakers that are outdoor-rated. Some are made to look like (orsort of) rocks.
