Samsung DLP (HLS5088W) 1080P with two HDMI inputs
Denon AVR-2807 w/ two HDMI inputs
Denon DVD 1720 (progressive scan w/ component "out" for video and coaxial and optical digital "out" for audio).
Note: Should I spend the extra $200 for the Denon 1920 w/ HDMI 1.1 with selectable scaling - 480p/720p/1080i/*1080p??? I plan on making the switch to either Blu-ray or HD/DVD in a year or so....after things get worked out a bit.
Panamax 5100 power conditioner
I'll be using a polk audio center chanel as well as four polk in-ceiling speakers (two with directional tweeters). Sub is 10" MartinLogan.
Remote = Universal MX-850

Tweeter is doing the complete install, but I want to make sure the installer takes full advantage of my components.

Thanks for the help!

I am sure Tweeter will take full advantage of you. ;) er, yer stuff that is.

Checking the stats and that seems like a nice display.

Your DVD doesn't have HDMI, so either the receiver or the display will be converting from component, I would forget HDMI for now and hook it up with component. Even once you get a HDMI source chances are fair you will be best served connecting directly to the display instead of a trip through the receiver. HDMI is NOT looking like somethng you really want to be deep into in its first generation and before products that support it are common.

Nothing in the audio/video industry has profit levels as high as cables except for extended warranties. When they tell you that you need lots of both, its your job to politely decline and have it set up as simply as possible.

Truth be told, I wouldn't be buying any of their cables or letting them do the hookup, just the heavy lifting.

Since I am on a roll, I don't think you need the power conditioner or the remote, your system is going to need to be turned on and off, change channels, and press play, etc. which are all functions found on the most common and easy to use remotes that come with most of the gear you are getting.

OTOH thats just me, enjoy your stuff and don't let me grinch it.

TV calibration. I am sure that is not part of the installation, or at least, not an ISF type of calibration. It is a must if you want proper, high quality video.

Regarding a "ISF type of calibration"........how necessary is this with a DLP set?
