my center channel is a studio v5 cc-590 and the midrange driver cone isnt vibrating at all with any sources i send it...the speaker it self is working cause i can feel it vibrate and sound but the cone doesnt vibrate at all while on the studio 60's the cone of the mid bass woofers are vibrating?...is that normal just cause the center channel gets less signals?...thx in advance...

Were you touching the mid-bass when it was operating?

yes i was....
And you felt no resonance at all?

If you put your ear up to it does it make sound?

Has it always been like this? Was it ever dropped? (did you buy it used and have it shipped to you?)

Do you mean to say the cone was not visually moving or that it was not visually and also not making any sort of resonance at all (like a buzzing feeling when touching the cone during playback)?

I looked up the model and it looks like that center channel uses a close to 4" midrange flanked by two larger mid-bass drivers that look more remnicient of the bass drivers on your Studio 60s, but smaller. The 6.5" mid-bass drivers on your Studio 60s are very different from the 4" midrange on your center channel. It's possible they made them look this way purely for the appearance of matching drivers. A midrange doesn't play frequencies that commonly cause the driver to exert or move visually. As long as it is producing sound and the sound is consistant with the rest of the speakers I'd say you don't have a problem.

the mid range driver is 4.5 and on the studio 60's all woofers are 5.5''.. just for your concern..all im wondering is why the cone on the center channel doesnt move at all and doesnt vibrate at all???

If the cone does not vibrate or make any sound, then it is blown. If you put your finger gently on it, can you feel it move when something is playing? If you put your ear up to that particular driver, can you hear something come through?

You have me thoroughly confused as to what you're saying. For our purposes, the driver = the cone. If every single driver/cone is vibrating and producing sound, then it is fine. If one of them doesnt vibrate or make sound then it doesnt work. you say that the driver moves, but the cone doesnt. I'm not sure what you mean by that. Can you clarify?

Same reason you can't see tweeters move.

You won't really see it move because it moves too fast for us to see. We can only see woofers and subs move. Now, as others have asked, when yo put your ear right up to the drivers, do you hear anything?

There is no need for the midrange to vibrate for it to work. We are talking
about the upper frequency level - above the bass notes. If there is no hole
in the frequency response - then you are fine.
