playstation 3 for ipod library access

Hi,

I'm trying to make my itunes music library available to my avr. I was thinking about using a connection from my pc where the files are stored, to the ps3 over my LAN, and connect my ps3 to my avr. is that the easiest way to make it work? any other low cost solutions you would recommend?

I stream all of the music on my PC to my PS3, you can use windows media player 11, but there are better options such as TVersity, and what I use, Twonky Media. WMP is ok, but I have encountered some issues with it, and the other two are more versatile and support more file formats.

I tried streaming from WMP and I could access my PC from the PS3 but couldn't play any of my audio files.

Are they songs you've purchased from the iTunes store?

I have no problem streaming from my laptop or my office desktop to the PS3. You have to go in and allow sharing in WMP11 and the PS3 will "see" it, then reboot the PS3 and it should work.
