LOL, maybe so. just thinking of all the things that I wouldn't do if I didn't have to... Seth's right about the lack of motivation to be tidy. A floor is like one big low shelf to me, and I use it as such. :D
And I know exactly where things were thrown, I mean placed ;)

Are those prices real or are people just having fun placing those high bids?

It's quite hilarious actually...

Friday night, the 17th, there were real Ebay bidding wars driving the price of some PS3 auctions (easily over 10 of them) to $2600+.

Sunday morning, there were new expiring PS3 auctions for the same 60gb machine hovering between $850 and $950 (I saw an auction for the PS3 ending for $847 with less than a minute to close bidding) - easily around 9 auctions at this lower amount. That is an average of about a 65% auction bid droppoff in less than 2 days.

I will wait until I happen upon one normally in my local Best Buy or Gamestop.

They are all buffoons I tell ya. Buffoons. :D

It does not look like any of them considered the "pay to play" ploy that Sony is using to increase the overall cost of completing a game. I cannot imagen paying $400 - 500 to buy and unlock all features of a game. That is down right highway robbery. PS3 is in my bad books already.

I heard them talking about it on the G4 show AOTS.

Here is what I found, http://www.pro-g.co.uk/xbox360/tiger_woods_pga_tour_07/news-3833.html

Ok, so maybe I jumped the gun with the PS3 comment, since you can still play to unlock eveything that you can buy. But its not a strectch to where EA is with the NFS Carbon on the 360. Apparantly EA has released several items that can only be bought in the Xbox Live Marketplace. Very short news story on that here,

I donno, while it seems like an amazing idea from the perspective of the men in suites, its the gamer who suffers...

Yea, i figured you didn't know what you were talking about regarding the PS3

and it's not only NFS: Carbon that MS has items for sale for in the XBL market place.

in PGR3 you can purchase additional cars to download...and i'm sure its the same for carbon as well.

I personally see no problem with this. The downloadable content has NO effect on gameplay or your ability to beat the game...it simply adds to the game. It's adding in features that developers didn't have time to get into the initial release.

They're not forcing people to pay more money to complete the game...they're jjust offering up the chance to pay a small fee (it was $6 for a few new cars in PGR3) to enhance gameplay.

also..what do people in suites have to do with this? Are you saying anyone in a hotel suite will benefit from this? I'm not so sure about that...but i am sure that the men in SUITS will have a little something extra added to their pocket book

I beg to differ, I believe it's more planned than that. The aim is to make the gamer pay more for the complete game. Think of it, why sell all the content for $50-60 when you can get someone to pay $100 or more.

Those small fees add up depending on how few or many "enhancements" a gamer may want. As described in the link for NFS, if you choose to get all the enhancements the overall game will cost more than $100. If this trend continues it is not tough to imagine a day when you will have a thread bare game released and every "enhancement" to make the game worth playing will have to be bought.

These prices, as well as demand for the PS3 and Wii doesn't surprise me. Look at all the lazy fat kids out there that haven't been on a bicycle in years. When was the last time you saw a bunch of 4th and 5th graders having a backyard football game? They're in the family room on a flat screen playing video games, probably munching on Doritos. These next few generations will be the best thing that ever happened to the medical field. A good friend of mine just took away the computer and video games from his kids b/c they've gotten so lazy. We've taking away the tv during certain hours from our kids b/c Nick and Disney were on constantly.

Being a teen I see a lot of really lazy or fat kids, although many at my school aren't too bad. I myself am a runner, so you couldn't tell that I spend anytime at all on a computer. :D When you put in 40 miles a week, and train competitively, no way in hell are you going to gain any fat lbs. Personally though I don't play many video games, they give me headaches after about an hour. I think that computer usage is better than watching TV, since TV is such a brain-deadining experience. I watch almost no TV anymore.
