Plasma on curved wall

Hi guys,

In a couple of months time I'll be moving into my new house (finally) and I've always thought I'd hang the plasma on the wall. Tricky bit is that the wall is about 4 meters long and it's curved so I'm starting to get a bit concerned with regards to the TV-"brace" on the wall if you see what I mean.

Does anyone have any experience with this or just some advice?

Most flat panel brackets come with spacers of various lengths so I dont think it will be an issue.

ah ok. As you may have suspected I don't have any experience at all in hanging up a plasma on a wall...

Make sure you screw the wall mount into studs.

Even if your wall mount does not come with spacers, you can buy a 1x1 from Home Depot or Lowes and cut it to the desired length to bridge the gap between the mount and the wall. Then just drill a hole of the appropriate diameter in the center of the 1x1 to make it function as a spacer.

I did this when mounthing my surround speakers and it worked out well.

The spacers that the mounts come with are for using on the back of the TV, Not for use with the lag bolts for the wall bracket. Of course you can buy spacers, But depending on how curved said wall is then they may or may not work. A swing arm mount would probably work better because they have smaller mounting plates than a standard tilt mount. Also consider ceiling mounted brackets which hang the tv off a pole that mounts to the ceiling.

If the wall is not curved too drastically I would probably just use some washers behind the wall bracket on the lag bolts to make it even.

Ok, I don't like the idea of the pole sticking out of the ceiling, so that's no good. It's only a slightly curved wall and I just wanted to be sure the TV could slide down the stuff you attach to the wall.

I posted this problem on another site as well and there seems to be a consensus: stop worrying, all is well.
