Greetings Everyone,
First post so please forgive me for any errors or please feel free to redirect me to the correct bucket if this is not where it belongs to.
Here is my setup:
AV receiver: Onkyo TX-NR525
Front -Onkyo SKF-4700B
Onkyo Center Speaker SKC-4700
Onkyo Surround - SKS-4700B
Onkyo SUB - Onkyo SKB-240

I had always felt something was missing from the sound. Though never gave enough time for some serious listening. Recently I have discovered that my front two speakers lack sound detail. Since, those have tiny woofers, I wanted to go at some full range speaker for front LRC. Yesterday I purchased a set of LRC pre-owned Monitor Audio silver RS6. However I see the same problem with them. No Bass no highs on the L/R channel. The center is bright. If I play in stereo mode disabling the center and declare no sub as well, the sound is pathetic.

I am nowhere near to sound geek, however, I have sufficient technical background to understand each and every setting of the receiver. Played around with them, but to no luck. Is there a place where I can take the receiver and the speakers for a checkup as to what is wrong? I am happy to drive if anyone near PNW wants to give me a helping hand in troubleshooting this.

Hard to know what your expectations are based on first of all. Your room has a lot to do with what you'll hear so keep the gear in your place. Maybe someone can come over and help....I'm in the PNW but not that far north or I'd be glad to come over and take a listen....especially if there were free beer and food involved :). Maybe you could post pics of your speaker/room setup for an idea of your setup? Or a detailed diagram if you're shy?

I could see those new MA speakers being more capable of bass than the Onkyo speakers, but I wouldn't call the MA a full range speaker, tho I'd support them with a better subwoofer, that little 8" Onkyo isn't much of a sub.

How loud are you playing the system? Is this isolated to music or includes movies?

Ps you set everything up with Audyssey or manually?
