Just got my copy today. I did see it over the Summer, but I'm pretty pumped to have it on BD. Should be good.
Yeah, I tried to look for it too, but couldn't seem to find it. I'm watching now. Man, the T-storm is great (really shook the house).I thought we had a thread on Up, but apparently we either don't or searching for it will be impossible. Search said "UP" is too common to search forOrdering of it has been talked about in the Monster's Inc thread. Mine should be there when I get home tonight.
PQ/SQ are great. As for the LFE scenes, I just thought the T-Storm was quite cool. Later in the movie there's a bunch of strong LFE too. When the Muntz comes for Kevin in the dirigible really shook my house. One of the better Pixar movies for sure. I rate it fourth after The Incredibles, Monster's Inc, and finding Finding Nemo (maybe tied for third). The storm was great, but there was one other scene that had as much or more LFE in it, but I can't remember off the top of my head what it was. All I know is, I rewound it and listened to it a few timesIt was later in the movie. The DTS-HD track is awesome, period. The surround activity was great.
I would put this one pretty high up on my list of favorites from Pixar. The video quality is damn well near perfect, as expected.
I'd call this one a MUST SEE.
Yeah, that hit pretty hard.OK, one great scene with super LFE is near the end when Carl and the kid are running from Muntz's dogs knocking over the rock slabs. WOW...
Agreed. I'm pro 16:9 until I have a PJ setup with an anamorphic lens.I would prefer animated movies to be in 16x9, I like my HD stuff to take up the whole screen. I know you see more when it's a wider aspect ratio, I just dislike the black bars.
What do you mean? Mine was defaulted to dts-HD. I think it would have been nice to have an uncompressed PCM track tooWhy is it a lot of the Pixar movies default to DD. Drives me nuts.
I watched it on dvd. I can certainly see why it was rated so highly. I am still amazed. Sure hope they make a Part II!AVS gave it 98/100. The audio and video are reference quality. Top notch,
