pioneer vxs-d409 (shuts off right away)

Hello everyone! new member! just have a little info for this unit. to troubleshoot this unit without service lit, first un-hook all speakers then turn on unit. if it shuts down right away,odds are you have a bad PAC-010A main front output i.c. . to determine fast,unsolder all pin,s of PAC-010A and turn on unit. if it stays on and functions seem to change allright, its this i.c.. You can check every pin for shorts and check the motherboard for anything open,s or shorts and everything checks out ok. remove PAC001A if it fires up replace PAC010A. I have had a couple of these now!! (I suppose it would do the same thing if the PAC011A Surround amp i.c. is bad. but i have had only bad pac010a,s bad.) I hope i could help someone.

Has anyone found a cheap source for the PAC010A's? In looking the price is all over the place which makes me wonder about the outfits selling them and whether they are reputable or if the parts are knockoffs that do not meet specs.

I have a VSX D509S with the automatic shutdown on startup problem. The last day it worked the chassis was really hot which leads me to believe that one of the output modules is shorted (or both of them).
