I have this stereo my neighbor is letting try to see if I like it, it has plenty of power and good enough sound for my old ears. I can't seem to figure out how to get to the sub wooder controls, watched youtube vids. and read some things online, the sub worked with the rc cord and my old little Panasonic surround system that had a total 360 watts fine. when I get into the audio controls and scroll through I don't a sub title for adjusting the LPF level or anything else, Anyone have a idea of what i'm missing please ?

What was that Panasonic surround system. I suspect it was some type of HTIB, in which case the sub may not be compatible with that receiver?

There are many reasons for sound not being output from the subwoofer. It would help to have more information concerning all of the configured speakers, the selected source device and the selected sound mode in the receiver. The Pioneer will have two places to adjust the subwoofer signal. One will be the LFE ATT (Low Frequency Effects Attenuator) settings found in the Audio Parameter menu. The other will be in the Channel Level settings found in the Manual Speaker Setup menu.

Main LCR speakers need to be set to small, another potential issue.

Need more info on the gear you're hooking up to the Pioneer avr. Total wattage is a meaningless spec, fwiw. What particular speakers/sub are we talking about (make/model)?
