I am purchasing a pioneer vsx 919 and was wondering if the speakers from my old panansonic surround will work while I am figuring out what new speakers I am going to buy. These are some specs from the Panasonic system speakers:
Speakers
SB-WA820 Active Subwoofer: The SC-HT820V features an active subwoofer with built-in amplification for all of the speakers. The subwoofer uses a 4-ohm, 6-3/4" cone woofer in a bass-reflex enclosure. The woofer is covered by a non-removable light gray plastic grille. The subwoofer inputs include a jack for the AC power cord and the proprietary system cable. The subwoofer also has spring clip outputs for the front, center and surround speakers.
Front and Surround Speakers: The front and surround (SB-FS520A) speakers each have a 6-ohm, 2-1/2" full-range woofer in a bass-reflex enclosure. Each enclosure is covered by a non-removable silver metal grille. The integrated stands allow the speakers to be placed on any flat surface. The speakers can also be mounted on the wall. Each speaker has keyhole slots (hardware not supplied) and two M5 threaded inserts, allowing the speakers to be used with optional brackets.
Center Channel Speaker: The center channel speaker (SB-PC820) has two 6-ohm, 2-1/2" full range woofers in a bass-reflex enclosure. The enclosure is covered by a non-removable silver metal grille. The integrated stand allows the center speaker to be placed on any flat surface. There are two M5 threaded inserts on the back of the speaker for use with optional brackets. In addition, there are 2 keyhole slots provided for wall mounting.
I dont want to ruin the new receiver hooking up bad speakers that may blow it.
I also would like a recommendation on either Energy Take Five Classic speakers or Polk Monitor 40 Front, Monitor 30 Back and CS2 center and I'm not sure what sub.
