Vsx-9100tx

I was interested in either buying VSX-9100TX or the VSX-1015TX. I was wondering if anyone had any REAL information or specs on the VSX-9100TX. From what i have read it is 40 lbs! that is about 6 more than the 1015TX! I wrote Pioneer asking for specs but have not heard from them. Is either one of these receivers better than another? Thanks in Advance!

It's definitely a step up from the 1015TX. It appears Pioneer rebadged the Elite models (52TX, 54TX, and 56TX) with a plastic front door and a few less functions at a much better price. All the Best Buy Pioneer receivers seem to be an excellent bargain if you compare the msrp of the 52/54/56 at $1000/$1500/$1700 respectively. Don't forget to check the latest prices online for the Elite models. They've really come down in price recently. The msrp/street price comparison is almost a joke.

Vanns has the 9100 on sale for $499 with free shipping. I'd pick that over the 1015 which they have on sale for $449. That's the best price for a 9100 I saw from an authorized retailer.

Well now I'm really confused b/c if you go to the pioneer site you can find a list of authorized internet retailers, and a few of them sell the 9100tx as well. Hope we can get something figured out soon, b/c I was going to order this tomorrow.

So which is the better receiver then, the 9100tx or the 1015tx? I was dead set on the 9100tx b/c I had heard that it's the same exact receiver as the Elite 52tx

Someone please help

I believe the difference between the two is that the 9100 has multizone/multisource capability and the 1015 does not. On the otherhand, the 1015 has the third component in hookup and I don't think the 9100 has that. If you don't need multisource, I would go with the 1015 and save some money. I believe the guts are basically the same. You can go to BB web site and do a compare between the two and that helps compare the features.

So according to an earlier post today, the Pioneer 9100 weighs 33lbs? What's the deal? Did Best Buy drop the ball on the specs? Is the 9100 a closer sibling to the 1015, and the 9300 closer to the Elite 54?

The 9300 is closer to the VSX-56TXi with the exception of no I-link firewire connections. The 9300 actually weighs 44.8lbs according the owners manual. Same as the 56TXi which puts it at 5.1lbs over the Elite 54TX

I went to Bestbuy tonight to check out the 1015tx, and the kid there was kind enough to take it off the shelf and go hook it up to some speakers and grab a dvd player to throw a cd into it and let me play with the receiver. The thing has some serious power. Ok, granted it was hooked up to some klipsch speakers but it was rocking best buy, the store manager who was upfront in the store came all the way back there and started yelling at the salesman that hooked it up for me b/c they arent supposed to do that. I talked to the manager and calmed him down, but damn I was impressed with the power. So I went across the street where they have Pioneer Elite the 52tx is what I started messing around with and all the buttons are the exact same as well as the menus, I'm confused its like Pioneer has 3 receivers pretty much exactly the same with only small cosmetic or feature differences....I have no idea which one to get and I want to order it tomorrow. I am so utterly confused b/c the all look like good deals, the 9100 I've found for 391..$421 with shipping and the 1015tx can be had at JR for 430 with shipping.

We need to figure out once and for all if the 9100 and 9300 are clones of the Pioneer Elite 54 and 56. I'm still not convinced.

Dear Mr.

The VSX-9100X is exclusive to Best Buy stores. This unit was introduced for 2005 and is comparable to the VSX-54TX at www.PioneerElectronics.com.

Thank you

Inquiry:I was browsing the web, and I found a few places like Best Buy, that have a VSX-9100TX receiver. What is this, it looks just like the Elite without the Elite wording on the unit? It is not listed
on your website. Why not? and what are the actual specs of this product. Also what model year is this? If you could answer all these question it would be much appreciated! Thanks in Advance!

Best Buy?

I also emailed Best Buy, telling them that the specs I recieved from Pioneer and the specs on the their website did not match up! I asked them to email me the REAL specs of their product and told them that I called Pioneer and they gave me different specs, right now I dont know who to beleive, this is really weird!

The electronics expo site says that the 9100 uses dual Motorola 48 bit processors. But even their description contradicts itself in at least one spot. Seriously Pioneer should pull their heads out and just post the damn specs.
