Not sure if this should be in the interconnect, or receiver section but here it goes.
I have a Pioneer VSX-32
My current setup has my hd cable going directly to my tv via hdmi, and the audio out of the tv going to my rcvr via rca. I do this so I can set the input on the rcvr to my cd player while still watching cable, as during football/hockey games I usually prefer just having some tunes going instead of listening to annoying announcers ramble on and on (i mute the tv speakers). When I want tv audio out of my mains, i switch the input on the vsx and walah.
Now I was hoping I could do the same thing with the usb input to the vsx. I've put music on from the usb stick, which brings up a gui on the tv for navigating, but if I try to switch the video input on the tv to my cable box, the vsx automatically switches off of the usb input to an hdmi input turning off the music.
Is this just inherent of the usb mode since it requires the gui? Or is there some way around this?
Any ideas?
thanks
