Pioneer SC-67 Pre-outs - No sound Help please!!!

Hi again, well after working and reading and planning all weekend, the finale came and all I get for output's from my SC-67 pre-outs is FRONT.
Talk about frustrating!!!
Read every page of the online manual and all troubleshooting guide at back, can't get the other preouts to output anything.
Page 75 to 78 says if I select anything but 9.1, then internal amp is locked on. Checked this, I am on 9.1.
Also says if I turn internal amp OFF (default is on) then all speaker terminals are off and supposed to run on preout terminals only.
Did that, several times, and even went back in to ensure it registered and stayed off, it did. Yet still no preouts other than preout FRONT.
Took every set of Cerwin Vegas I had, disconnected them from their respective preout, one set at a time, and plugged that set into the FRONT preout, just to test my amps and speaker sets and wiring. They all work great when plugged into FRONT pre-out. Pre-outs Not working are: Front height, Front wide, surround, surround back, center. The 2 sub outputs are working.
This thing is brand new.
Any ideas, could sure use some help. Thanks
Equip: SC-67, 5 CV 1800's, 12 CV cabinets, 3 CV powered subs.

Hi. After you hooked up the pre-out jacks to your amplifiers and turned the external amps on, did you run MCACC? A couple of things that come to mind that could be causing this: (1) you could be in Stereo mode or be playing a stereo source, and/or (2) the system might be set up to only run two front speakers and a sub in the speaker settings. Running MCACC with all amps/speakers connected and turned on will let it identify that those speakers exist.

Thanks Adam, no I didn't run MCACC yet, was trying to test everything first, but will do.
Which brings me to the MCACC test, my SC-67 is sitting under a Mezzanine floor, a long ways from room center, 60 to 80 ft.
Will this cause a problem during the test???
Thanks again.

The location of the receiver isn't important acoustically - it's the location of the calibration microphone that's important. The only thing that comes to mind for that being a problem is that the length of the cord on the microphone probably isn't long enough to reach from the SC-67 to your listening position if it's really 60 to 80 feet away. You can always get an extension cable, though.

Until you run MCACC, you can go into the speaker settings and manually set it up (or check if it already is set up) to use the other speakers.

Btw, nice receiver! I have a VSX-23 from 2009 and really like it.

Thanks again, I'll try that.
Was just reading manual again, page 45 says a mic came with it, I'll check and purchase a long cord.
Haven't had a pioneer for many many years, but I used to like them.

Thanks again.

Just wondering but if your running an extension of 80' will that cause any problems with signal strength during the correction process?

When new, receivers are usually not set up to provide surround sound. the minimum requirement is 2 front speakers, and therefore, the two Front pre-outs are enabled. This is one situation where baby steps is not recommended, go for the whole shebang.

As Adam recommended, get everything plugged in and placed as you like, then run the auto setup so that the receiver can detect that you have more speakers than just the Front L, R.

Thanks Again. Today I picked up 60' of extension, plus length of Mic cord so I'm good to go. I can get out to listening area with mic now. Been a long day, probably tackle it tomorrow PM.
Feel a little silly on the next question, but how about a quick lesson on posting a picture. I am 51, not as computer literate as I'd like to be. You've all been a great help, thought I'd throw some pictures up. That 21" Stroker is neat. I was running just one pair of XLS-215's off the front pre-outs and through the CV-1800 and WOW, with no subs on. A little Supertramp "Even in the quietest moments"
Oh, and tcarcio, I don,t think 80' will be a problem, cause I stopped at my audio store, he brought it up on a TV screen and it showed from zero to eighty, so hoping distance isn't a problem.
Again, thanks for all the advice.

but how about a quick lesson on posting a picture.
You will need to create an account with an image sharing site. Popular ones are Imgur, Flickr, Photobucket. You will need to load you picture onto whichever one you select. It is very easy to transfer pictures from your computer to one of these. Then there will be options to get a link to 'embed' the picture into your post.

Once you have the link, you use the image tags on the panel here, it is the icon to the left of the film strip (to the right of the globe with the red x across it). Put the link in the image tags and you're done.

You don't even need to wait to have your pictures uploaded. Here is an image link that I found via Google. Go ahead, embed it in your next post. Just copy the part between the arrows...
