What are your opinions on the Pioneer Mosfet THX Dolby Digital Receiver (VSX-1015TX-S)??? If I can't get the AVR 7300 that I am after right now this will be my second option.

Its a good receier for the $$$. Considering its THX cert. 7.1 and has auto setup, I wouold get one. But, I want HDMI up-conversion, so its a RVX1600Minimum.

The 1015 is no where near the receiver the 7300 is. If you can budget for $650, grab a Denon 3805 on Ubid.

Your RTi10's are going to need at least a 3805.

At first I thought you said HK 3300, but 7300? Dude, it's like comparing a 911 GT2 to a 350zx. Both the Pioneer and HK are nice, but we know which outclasses the other. The 7300 is one of the most expensive amps you can buy and the damn thing still has a plastic front end   . Very lame of HK. If you're willing to spend that much $$$ then look at the Denon 3806.

If you're sucker for the blue light on the volume wheel, you can always get a Onkyo SR 703. Fantastic amp! It has pretty much all the options and more than what HK offers in the price range. And it's less than $700.

I have the HK 135, and I didn't even notice the front was all plastic until I set it up. The Black LCD part, yes, but not the silver front pannel.

Man oh man I do agree with this statement from Buckeyefan 1, but the Pioneer is a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than the Denon 3805. I would say get the Pioneer and if you find the Pioneer lacking in the power department, you can always buy an amp and make the 1015 a pre/pro.

Or get the Denon 3805 or one of my favorites, the Yamaha RX-V1600.

I have the 1015 and love it, but if i had half the money that the 7300 cost I would get a Pio Elite.
