HI,I have a 4308ci that is waiting a hdmi unit.While waiting I thought about using a VSX-82TXS that i have since 2007,but I can´t find the mcaa equalizer.Do you guys think that I can get a reasonable sound doing the setup manually?Tks for the opinions.

Sure you can, go to radio shack and pick up an SPL meter. That, and some test tones should get things rolling.

Unfortunately,we don´t have a Radio Shack overhere anymore.But there are similar sets as the SPL.I don´t know if I could use the 4308 Audissey as an emergency replacement for the MCAA?

No. Even if, say, your Pioneer also used Audyssey, you still couldn't. I mean you could, but you would have no idea how compromised it would be. Even Audyssey mics are calibrated to the particular receiver.

I paid $13 for my Audyssey mic, + $5 shipping, directly from Onkyo.

Just contact Pioneer. I doubt it will be much more, if at all, than a RS meter. If I were you, I'd buy both for the heck of it. You can order online with RS, you know . . .

The last time I replaced a pioneer mic it was $40. Unfortunately they won't use any other kind. Only the Pioneer setup mic.

Listening all the advices,I think that I will sell the Pioneer and stick with the Denon,waiting for the HDMI board.Pioneer is not an easy brand to sell,also doesn´t have a reasonable name overhere,except for car audio, and I´ll take the opportunity that appeared with a guy willing to buy as it is.Tks to you all.
