Hello All,

I'm thinking about geting this player for "SACD & DVD AUDIO" usage. What do you think?

I'm 75% movies & 25% music.

I have the 563A. It is a fine dvd player. I haven't had a problem with it, except that it will not play a few DVD audio titles. But you can get a firmware upgrade and if you call Pioneer, they will cover the cost for you. I have been thinking of upgrading, but I don't know if a more expensive model would really give me any better performance. Does anyone know???

I also have the 563a, and love it. Pioneer will do the upgrade for free, but I'm not willing to be without it for that long, personally. The newer model, 578a, has the firmware upgrade and they say there's no noticable layer change with it. But, it down converts the sacd signal, and the 563a doesn't.
Good luck and enjoy. :)

Can I ask a stupid question? (I've done it before.;))

Will one of these DVD-Audio, SACD, also play regular everyday DVDs? I saw the Pioneer cheap at Circuit City too and since I have a two year old Combo DVD/VHS player, I was thinking of upgrading to one of these.

OH! And will they play ordinary CDs?
