I'm trying to set up my new HD television and have the audio outs going into my stereo receiver but also want to have the speakers on the TV active at the same time. I'm trying to use the MONTIOR OUT but can't get it to work at all. I've checked the chords and they work; I've checked the inputs on the receiver, and they work. So I'm getting sound out of the TV speakers but not out of the speakers that are set up to my receiver. Any help?

BenMalone08, a couple of pieces of information will help:

1. What make/model is the TV that you are referring to?
2. When you say "monitor out", is this a yellow colored jack, a coaxial/digital jack, or a white and a red colored jack? Are there any other jacks labeled "Audio Out" not being used?
3. Where are the connections from your TV going to on the receiver? Are they labeled "Audio In" or "Monitor In"?
4. Are you trying send a 5.1 audio signal or just stereo (2 speakers) signal to your receiver?
5. Not trying to be rude - Is your receiver set to the right input? My parents have done this before...
