Pioneer 151FD Plasma -- Is this Normal?

I just had a pioneer elite kuro 60 inch plasma display installed in my home theater (151FD).

The image is spectacular... especially the black levels.

My question is to those of you who have the same display (or even the 50 inch version) and can test this out when in a very dark room.

The behavior that is disturbing is when a scene "fades to black", or when there is no source input at all. Instead of the screen being uniformly dark dark black as expected, I note that the central 50% of the screen, is very very black (in sort of an oval shape), while the surrounding area of the screen is a lighter shade of black, sort of a glow, giving the impression of an oval black shape on a less black background.

THis is only noticeable at night when my room is very dark, which is how we usually watch movies.

IS THIS NORMAL? What is the cause? Can it be corrected? Or, do I have a "lemon" ?

Thanks very much.

Im not sure but since its new. Get it checked out. The pixels shouldnt be grouped in the maner you described with any variance on a no source input.
