pink lines on my plasma

I notice it most when I watch dvd movies that have a dark blue scene. For example when I was watching "running scared" during the black lighted ice rink scene I noticed these pink horizontal lines in certain areas. Also when I was watching the last samuri during the first battle scene these pink lines showed up again. Is my plasma bad? Its only 1 month old. Should I send it in for a new one? Or is this normal?

If it doesn't show up on any of your other input sources (ie cable box) then I'd suspect either the DVD player or the connection cable from the player to the display.

Just saw the pink lines on a cable program, U2 concert from chicago on HDNET, note that the scene was also a dim lite and had sort of a blue fuzzy smoke filled room filled look. So it has happened on my dvd player on my cable box and on my ps2. The cable and ps2 are ran through my reciever via component and the dvd is ran via hdmi.

Was the TV properly calibrated with a test DVD? Perhaps there is a color issue?
I think you should also call the company service department or where you bought it. Maybe you can take that DVD into the store to watch it on a demo of the same make?

Im going to try this

I called pioneer and they told me it might be feed back. They told me to try a couple of different settings to see if it fixes the problem. The info is on pg 63 of the owners manual and if it works i will let you guys know. i appreciate the help.

One reason to try to also calibrate it with a calibration DVD?

You can use Digital Video Essentials. Or Avia Guide to Home Theater. They are by far the most popular. And cheapest. Good luck.
