I saw this concert last night and I was quite impressed. And before you get all excited thinking their is a reunion, it wasn't the real Pink Floyd, it was a tribute band. They are called The Australian Pink Floyd and they did the Wall in its entirety plus about 6 or so other songs. They still have a few dates left in the states and Canada so if you like Floyd, I recommend checking them out.

Seriously, I have no life.
Funny that I should see this post now- I'm listening to 'The Wall', Live CD.

The Aussie band has been here in MKE before but i couldn't make it. I'll try harder next time.

I am sorry to have missed the original Wall tour because of the sheer spectacle of it. The literal wall built of giant bricks, the immense puppets controlled from helicopters, and the Gerald Scarfe animations were essential parts of the experience. Does the Australian Pink Floyd show include all of that?

No. They don't do that. That's probably why the original tour was only in a few cities worldwide. They did however, have a video backdrop with animation that was along the same lines as the movie. However the hammers had kangaroos for hammerheads instead.

I was in Berlin at Potzdammerplatz in 1990 while I was on my way to visit my family in Austria. That was an amazing concert. They did have a lot of problems because of the rain that day, but they did pull it off good. I still have the facemask and the ticket stubs. I think it was around 270.000 people and the show was awesome. I do have still pictures but no video of that concert. By the way I must have given away at least 20 copies of that DVD. Everbody that watches wants a copie, so I just hand them out.

Just found out today that they will be here in 3 weeks. Looks like they are just starting their North American tour. Sounds like they will be doing songs from Wish You Were Here,DSOTM, The Wall and Animals. Tickets are reasonably priced as well.

I love Pink Floyd to death and never cared for "remakes" of their music.

I saw Pink Floyd in Phoenix during their "Division Bell" tour, was just an awesome concert. Probably best concert I've ever been to and I have been to hundreds. (Used to be a rock critic for a college newspaper 20 years ago)

I am a fan of all kinds of music and have seen too many concerts to remember, but a Pink Floyd concert is an EVENT. Everything else is just a rock n' roll show by comparison. I see APF is coming to KC. I may check it out. Thanks for the heads up.

Well, you didn't ask me, but this one was too easy. I love Lou Reed, but his concert I saw in Las Vegas about 6 years ago was the worst concert I hope I ever see. Completely ridiculous and I have seen some drunken, out of tune, amateur night stinkers before but Lou took the cake. He came out about an hour late, started playing his opening song and about 5 seconds in he stops, tells the crowd he will come back out when everybody has finished getting their drinks and was sitting down. An hour later he comes out, without saying a word picks up his guitar and does a 20 minute spoken word/weird feedback rendition of the poem, "The Raven". He then plays three songs off his then new album and leaves. It was a pretty hostile crowd leaving. I hate to say it but I have a hard time listening to Lou Reed at all anymore and I really, really like his music. The guy is a complete jerk and its too bad some of his fans think that sh*&ty attitude makes him "cool".
