Pincushion on Samsung 5674 DLP

Anyone else see this? Not drastic but about 1/2 inch bow in from top to middle when in 4:3 mode. Service is replacing set, but on another forum I was told that this is a consistant issue, and replacement won't solve problem. I love the HD PQ on this set, but now that I have noticed the pincushion, I can't seem to disregard it. LCD or LCoS have this problem? I could get a 61" JVC or Sony LCD for the price paid for the 56" Samsung.

I sell these tv's at Ultimate Electronics and I have never noticed this issue. I'll check for it next time I am at work and get back to you. Have you considered the Mits Dlp? In the opinion of myself and most others in the industry it is a much better set. If glare is an issue you can remove the screen. As far as the lcd and lcos tv's; they lack the contrast and depth of picture that the dlp's have, and the lcd's suffer from what is called the "screen door effect" which basically means you seem to be looking through a screen door at the picture (you see a grid on the screen).

sounds like a plan

based on bbakken's advice above, I have started to look at the mits and am now leaning towards returning the samsung 5674 and getting the mitsubishi wd62725. Looks like it may be ~200 more, but is the pq seemed a little better to me. Any other ideas?

mits

It all depends on where you are shopping. In my area I have seen the Mits go for less and I have seen the samsung go for less. If you shop at Best Buy or CC, they will not deal on prices. Go to the nearest commission retailer and get the best deal.
