People that do not take care of their belongings, the worst being Cars. I am a detailer at Lexus, and it pains me to see some of these cars in such rough shape. I will be making a thread on how to properly care for your car (cleaning wise) so I can inform those on AH.

Kids shouldn't be playing everywhere, more specifically the street. It doesn't take a speeding car to end a kids life.

Another completely unrelated peeve is people watching me eat. You can see their eyes following your food from the plate to your mouth with a look of longing that makes you feel like they are going to reach across the table and swipe your food.
I'm the same way, i dont really like going to sit down type places or eating in front of other people. Especially when im driving, like if i go to get a burger or something i wont stuff my face with fries unless im driving, definetly not when im sitting at the stop light.

I also dont like roads with more than one lane going in the same direction because people always pace you and look at you. I guess I need really tinted windows :D

This is good, I am feverishly taking notes on how to correctly compose my posts on this forum in an attempt to maximize my perceived intelligence.

I do have a pet peeve though. Automated answering systems that are not set up correctly. You call a company, and the menu doesn't work, the options are incorrectly labeled, or the person you are trying to reach does not exist!

You would think that if they are investing in the system, they would make sure it is working properly!

People who say "basically" and "essentially".Fragment They are useless filler words that have no real meaning. I used to use them as well, until I learned the error of my ways. Now I cannot stand it when I read something containing those words. It makes me feel like the writer/speaker Does not really know what they are talking about.

That is a more specific part of a greater Pet Peeve of mine. Using poor English, especially, on the internet. To me,Implied The way you present yourself in the form of online posting is a direct reflection of your intelligence. I will not call someone an idiot for not using perfect English (I screw up from time to time, we all do.) Carelessly typing away tells me that I probably would be better off not listening to what you have to say.

I could not resist. :D

To get back on topic:
Driving in a method that is un-courtious of the small percentage of us stick shift owners.
Coming up behind me at a redlight, stoping a normal distance then slowly inching up so there is no room to roll back.
Starting as the light turns green then slowing down and speeding back up.
Driving between the 12 and 14mph range. My car doesnt have a gear for that speed.:D
You're seriously going to knock me for contractions? Sorry, I wasn't aware I was writing my thesis here.

I'll give you the fragment and the implied, but the other two corrections fail. You broke up my sentence about poor English, now it looks like garbage. I could have written in better with a semicolon, but it works. I don't see how the last one is a run-on, considering there isn't a good way to make two independent clauses out of it. Long sentences don't automatically mean run-on.

Drivers who get up on my a$$. I pull to the right to let them pass. They get in front of me and then slow down.
Drivers who are going slow as h.ll & won't move out of the passing lane. When I try to go around them on the right, they speed up.
Callers who leave a slow, long drawn out, message with way more information than I need, and then zip through their phone number so fast that I have to start the recording over to catch it on the second (or third) go around.
Phone calls from telemarketers that start off with, "this is not a telemarketing call" when clearly, they are.

People who pay for small purchases with a credit card. That's why the line at the coffee shops can get so long, people buying their 3 dollar cup of coffee on a credit card. Go to a bloody ATM.

This.

I'm so particular about cars and while I don't expect people to be as into it as I am... I don't get why they can't just keep it clean at least.

And why do people use car washes? By the time you drive to the car wash and back, spend whatever it costs.... you could have been done washing your car at home and your paint won't look like sandpaper.

Better not look at my car. I live on a gravel/mud driveway, and have only washed the car once since I bought in june.

Yeah, the poor english sentence was a little nitpicky. "Using poor english on the internet" is a full sentence; whereas "expecially" adds to it, and technically should be seperated by commas.

The run on isn't completly a runon, but it gets confusing toward the end. It would be easier to read if it where broken up.

The whole thing could have easily passed; i had to read it carefully to find problems.

I just had to be a pest.

I second the slow answering machine message with a quick number message peeve.
Also I add people who leave a message to call them back but fail to leave a number. They expect me to keep track of their number?

2. People that say, "should of" or "would of", instead of "have".

3. People that say, "conversate".

People who say "heigth" instead of "height".

It's length, width and height.

My boss also like to say, "reinerate" instead of "reiterate". The funny thing is he usually stating whatever it is for the first time, not multiple times.

Butchering of the English language sometimes frosts my butt.

My other pet peeve deals with just about every P.E. on the face of the Earth. But they are engineers. Common sense is not a prerequisite for licensure.
