What is the "Rule of thumb" on how much money sould be invested on each area of the audio section of a home theater system?
Receiver = ?
Universal player = ?
Speakers = ?
Cables = ?
For that matter, what percentage of the speaker budget should we seek to spend on each area of it?
Fronts = ?
Center = ?
Side surrounds = ?
Rear surrounds = ?
Subwoofer = ?
I seem to remember sales people in the 80's saying 70%-75% of your two speaker stereo system should be spent on the speakers. Does that still hold true for most 2.0 systems? Was it ever really true? We are now running 5.1, 6.1, 7.1, 7.2... h/t systems. What percentage know?
I know this is all very subjective but I'm sure alot of anal people want to know!
