PC Sub with M-Audio av40

Hey All. I am looking for an 8" Subwoofer to pair with my av40 powered monitor studio speakers for my PC. I have a decent sound card. I would like the sub to have RCA Inputs as well as RCA Outputs for the monitors. I have read about ways to do it without a pass though sub by using multiple Y splitters. Correct me if I am wrong, this just sounds like it would be a quality eater. Another suggestion was to use the center/sub output on the sound card. This just doesn't make sense to me. I would then have to set the sound card to 5.1 to activate that plug while only using 2.1. I would lose sound then that was diverted to the rears.

So, really, what I want is a BUDGET 8" sub that has pass through but search as I may, I cannot find one. Any suggestions or known subs with such a configuration?

Am I way off here with my thinking?

Thank You All So Much,
Brian

Thanks JinJuKu. I went cheap. I got the old Polk PSW10. I wanted the Dayton but everywhere was sold out. I couldnt find anything cheap that had RCA outs but I figured out I was just able to use two 3.5 to dual RCA for both av40's and sub. Plugged the 40's into one stereo out and the sub in the other stereo out. I set my jacks setup to stereo with the av40's as fullrange. I turned my volume to 50% and tuned the sub with the music. I set the crossover on Trustudio Pro to 80 and the same on the Sub. It sounds decent. Not going to win any awards but it is more than adequate for my laptop music and occasional gaming.

Thanks for your input!
