has anyone heard both the svs pb 12 plus and the pb 12 plus/2. I am wondering if i should buy the pb 12 plus or spend a little more and get the plus/2 if it is worth it. I have a large room and alex at svs said that either sub would do but listening at loud levels may be suited for the plus/2

I have not heard either but buy the looks of their specs the plus 2 is well suited to your size room. Alex is right on that you might want the 2 for higher listening volumes.:D

I have had both in the same room.... 8200 cu ft...

How large is your room...? I'm estimating 4600^3 with a search I found 24x16 cathedral ceiling....

The Plus/2 would do very well in your room, better then a Single PB12-Plus, otherwise I would say 2 PB12-Plus's would work better...

In a room that size, dual subs would be much better at smoothing out FR.... I started out with a single Plus/2 and then added a Plus, and it worked out fantastically, but when they announced they were dropping the Plus/2 from their lineup, I snatched up a second. Dual Plus/2's annihilate my huge room. I moved my Plus to my bedroom setup, but eventually replaced/sold it for a JL Audio F112 for improved SQ in that small room, but the LF is less with a sealed sub compared to the ported.

Do you have room for dual subs in your room....?

The magic word is "Wonder".

I always suggest that if you are "Wondering" you might as wall go ahead, and get the product your "Wondering" about. Because if you don't. You'll always have that "Wondering" thought in the back of your mind. It's better to go ahead and get that product your "Wondering" about instead of living with that "Wondering" feeling forever.

Go with the plus/2, you will never regret it, and it will save you from upgraditis. Plus you will have the extra headroom if you ever need it, or just want to really show your system off.
