My Onkyo receiver has pass thru HDMI connections. Should I use them to connect HD cable box and blu ray DVD? Right now I have box and blu ray connected directly to tv via HDMI. The audio from box and blu ray is connected directly to the receiver via rca cables.
Is there a benefit or disadvantage to using HDMI pass thru on my Onkyo TX-SR505?
My reasoning for current hookup is video directly to tv and audio directly to receiver. Running video thru the audio receiver is a new concept and one I'm not sure of. The HDMI cable has to be better carrier of data but running a HD box and Blu ray through a receiver doesn't seem right to me.
thanks in advance,
Jonathan
