Seriously, I have no life.
Ok, here comes one of the many questions i will have as a new parent. How long did you keep your newborn at home before carring he/she out into the world and why? I want to take my 14 day child out but im not sure if its healthy for her or not. Any advice is welcome. C'mon TLS, let me have it! :p:D

Thanks,
Tommy
While you asked about taking them out, I would add not to rock them or bounce them much. I see couples constantly doing some form of jiggling. Their young brain is floating in there, not fully filling the cavity and I don't think the brain like all that bouncing around. You only hear of the extreme cases of shake syndrome where they were shaken to death.
Just think how the world looks to you if you were constantly shaken today, a good amount:D

Just the kind of general newborn info I can use. Just got back from my wife's baby shower where we scored a bunch of stuff.:D I can check off a bunch of stuff that I don't have to buy now.;)

The wife and I attended a four-day new parenting class taught by a retired RN which was great for the both of us.

Tommy,

Your local Fire Department should be able to help you install the baby seat in your car. At least around here they are certified to do this.

I'ts hard to say this time of year, how long you should wait. Couple of weeks is how long my wife and I waited, but that was in the summer months. You may want to wait until the first vaccinations are done considering the time of year. your child will carry the mothers immunities for the first coupe of months. (my wife and I have a 15 month old and another due in January, so this is all still fresh in my head)
