I presently own a Parasound HCA-855A and it is used in my HT system. It has been reliable under any circumstance that I have thrown at it and have only had it go into self protection once (driving Acoustat 2+2's, who could blame it!).
Everybody that I know that owns various Parasound amplifiers enjoy them. I know that it would be hard to exchange my 'little' Parasound amplifier for any other amplifier (other than another Parasound) as the performance has always been first rate. The amplifier is based on a design by John Curl whose designs tend to be very stable and whose outputs tend to be conservatively rated. In fact, the performance of this amplifier comes real close to my reference amplifier used in my 2-channel set-up, a much more expensive Pure Class A amplifier.
If only their [Parasound] pre-amplifiers met this level of performance.
