Looking for a pair of bookshelf speakers. I listened to Paradigm Studio 10 & 20 and was quite impressed with the sound. I also auditioned a Rega R1 store demo, like the clarity of the sound but does not like the look :D

For some reasons, I always prefer speakers made in England (maybe just my perception). Any comments?

If you like the "British sound", you can also look to audition Epos, Triangle, Aerial and Era speakers. They all seem to have a unique voicing when compared to the sound of American speakers. These brands may be hard to find depending on your location. I had a chance to hear the Rega on Saturday with a few other speakers for my brother's speaker shopping. He chose the Epos ELS3 but you also might consider the M5 which is more money but with a similar sound and more capability. I would also highly recommend hearing the Era D4 in this category.

It's Canadian pricing so it may not mean much, but it was $400 after 13% sales tax.

Oh, and I forgot Castle speakers. They also share that same sound. I suspect that finding a U.S. dealer for these may be difficult, though.
