Paradigm Studio 60's and Sub & Amp??

Just got done listening to the Studio 60, and 100's

I will end up with the 60's I am sure with a CC-470 or should I go 570? I have the rear speakers already. My question is my friend thinks I should buy a Sunfire True Subwoofer Super Junior (22 to 100 Hz frequency response (+0, -3 dB). It small and it is very powerful and tight. Just wondering if I stray off the Paradigm sub will it matter?

Also I was planning on adding a front amp to power the three fronts, ROTEL, NAD and running the back speaker with the Receiver?

Thanks

No, you don't need to buy a sub from the same manufacturer.

Skip the Sunfire, how much are you willing to spend and what is the volume you need to fill?

Spending budget sub $500.00 I can get that Sunfire Jr sub now for $500 used or new for $700 and my room is 20x15 with vaulted ceilings. I tried to listen to the Velodyne subs at Fry's about 1 hour ago. But half of the display floor not working. I asked the salesman why? He says his Manager has not had time to repair the wires. Now I know why all of these stores are going out of business 10,000 workers sitting around talking to each other not doing anything. Anyways just a little mad I was not able to sample the subs.

Where can I find a online dealer that sells Studio 60's the store I tested them at wanted $1600 + TAX
I am sure that is hi right for these speakers? Any good place in L.A, CA area I can find them?

Thanks

Paradigm doesn't have any authorized on-line dealers for their speakers. The Paradigm site is kind of screwy when searching for local vendors. You get a chance to enter your zip code and they'll provide you with the closest dealer. However, if you enter another zip code from a nearby town, you'll probably see a different vendor listed.

It would be nice if Paradigm were to give you the option of entering your zip code and then a radius of how far from your home you'd be willing to travel to find a dealer. This would present you with more than one dealer in which you could shop the others to see if the price is more competitive.

Yeah I tried different zip codes nothing came up? What do you think of $1600.00 + TAX for the studio 60's? I have been lookin at Audiogon and found some but he is in Canada shipping will kill me.

Back to the sub issue. You room is reasonable large so if watch a lot of movies call Hsu and SVS and ask them for recommendations in $500 to $700 range. Neither will BS you. That's what I would do.

JMO I would purchase the 40's instead of the 60's since you'll be using a sub anyway. I would take the extra money, and purchase the CC-570. Or even the new CC-690 if it timbre matches. :D

For sure the way to go, good call there Mazersteven !!

Or shoot the extra to a sub... but your front 3 should be the most important descision, that and a sub...

Just some FYI to the original poster: with an $800.00 budget for subwoofer, you could get two(or more) value units, and place them on opposing sides of the room, and you will achiever higher sound quality, higher SPL and better integration as opposed to a single subwoofer of substantially higher cost. If it's a matter of what will get you the best SQ, I have outlined it. If it is a matter of the cooler sounding name-brand, go with that.

I just sent you a email asking you that same question;) I was thinking of getting the 40's, but I can not find a place to hear them. How do they sound compared to the 60's? The 2 places I have been to only have 20's 60's, & 100's  . Also I was planning on going to the Paradigm Studio 40's v.3 CC-470 v.3, or CC-570 v.3, or CC-690 v.4?? Or would that not match with v.4?

What are your top 3 subs for $500.00

And I can get that Paradigm Studio 60 v.3 OTD 1k, 40's v.3 $700.00 and the CC-470 v.3 for $325.00??????????????

I also would think about doing the 40's front, and getting 20's for rear, as 40's in the rear are a waste for HT in my opinion... Upgrade that center channel to the 690 or at least a 590....

I Really love that SVS PB12-Plus but the NSD/2 would be just fine... Keep an Eye on the B-Stock Page.... they are always updating that page with products..
Same warrantee, usually just returned products, or maybe slight damage.

I listened to the 40 and 60 and using a sub I couldnt see paying for the 60. The 40 and a good sub should be a good combination for you; it works great in my "giant" room.

For sure like Mr. Gable suggested, go with the 40's and increase your budget on the sub, You might do well to check out those closeout pricing deals on the PB12-Plus in Gloss Black...

You won't find that deal on a new sub in that finish in a long time.

Well I am in a pickel right now on which way to go. I was going to take your guys advice and go with the Studio 40's, but I cant find them anywhere. The L.A stores only carry 20,60,100's:mad: . And Audiogon only have the 40's v.2. So I was thinking of going to the 20's, but I think I like the NHT Classic Three's they sound better then the 20's to me.
So I am basically waiting for one guy to get back to me on a steal of a deal for the studio 60 v.4 if it falls thru I may go the NHT route, I also found a deal for the Classic Three fronts and Classic Three C middle. But going back to the sub topic you guys keep picking out subs in the 1k range?? I was looking more into the $500 MAX range or even lower price range. I am not looking for a MAJOR POWERHOUSE SUB, just something that keeps up with 70% HT and 30% of music. Out of the SVS, HSU what would you recommend in that price range for the NHT Three's or the Paradigm 60's?
Thanks

Here is a curve ball. Go listen to some Polk LSi9's. :D

I liked them better then the Paradigm 40's when I auditioned the two side by side.

We were taking the money saved by changing the 60's for 40's and upgrading your sub. It is much easier when we spend your money vs. our own.
