Cam, they're going to be there. Have you heard them? If so please give me some input on them. How are they for music? Highs, Lows, Mid range, comparisons? I'll take any info. at this time.

The 11's are great for music. On their own with no sub they are the best in the monitor line up. Having said that, they do really need a sub to fill in the 50hz and down.

In a HT set up with the usuall 80 hz cross over, you would probably not notice any difference between the 7's and the 11's, but for $750.

I can't really tell you about the highs, lows, and the midrange because that is all subjective. Grab your favourite cd's and go demo them. Let us know what you decide.

Paradigm sub

I use a PDR-12 with my Phase Tech 9.1's and they give me everything that I want. Quite a difference between the PDR-10 and the PDR-12 at least that's what I heard i my evaluation of them a few years ago. I don't use the sub when I listen to music. The Phase Tech's do the job.

11's

Thanks for the info. I'll have it all set up in 3 weeks & let you know. I am now curious about the Studio series but I can't justify goingup when I can get the 11's for such a good price.

I'm using thg the PD-10. Is there any need to look at other subs? I'm only interested if the difference is significant.

As previously posted, you must decide with your own ears what sounds best...and at what price. I have just purchased the studio 100's, cc570, servo 15 and four mini's, and am not looking back or second guessing. I love 'em. The studios are Paradigm's reference series (high end), and a purchase like that is made only once every decade or two. I purchased a pair of Acoustic Research 23 years ago, (which I had been using as my ht mains) and they still sound phenomonal. I will now use them in another room...but they were well built enough to last over two decades, and still sound good. Paradigms are well built speakers at a great price...you would often have to spend twice as much to get the same amound of build quality, research, warranty, and just good sound. I did not have to justify my purchase (4k) with the fact that this setup will likely carry me to the year 2025, but it most probably will...and that kind of longevity (as well as the most important part of truly liking the sound) made it an easy decision for me.

Great adivce. :)

My friend has a paradigm system. Very low end. PDR-8 and bookshelfs on the 4 corners with a matching center. I went there for a party, and I must say they really put out some nice sound. The room wasn't special, no treatments, they were actually in cabinets cept for the center. Even the subwoofer.

I had the PDR-10 and just upgraded to the SVS PB10-isd... There is an absolute NIGHT & DAY difference. I will be posting a review this week. Here is some pictures of the 2 compared.

Mr. John, If I was buying somethimg in the Studio line I wouldn't worry bbecause I also would have done a lot of research & like you, I'd keep them forever. I have some 30 year old Electro Voice speakers that keeps going. With the 11's I'm looking at something I'll have for 5-7 years & haven't had the time to run around & listen to a lot of mid range speakers. That said, I wanted to get others' views on these just to confirm my purchase. I know how much value Paradigm gives you & I'm sure they'll be in my LR in about three weeks. Thanks to all. If anyone else has anything I should listen to in this class, please let me know.

There's nothing wrong with Paradigm speakers, though I personally feel there are better values out there for similar or better quality if you really look. Still, they're really nice and I'm sure you'll love them.

But the SUB. PLEASE seriously look at the SVS PB10-ISD before you waste a dime on a Paradigm sub. The hype is absolutely deserved. I am very familiar with the PW2200, which is a fine sub and it blows away the PDR and PS series -- but my PB10-ISD stomps the PW and for WAY less money. Do your research, you'll see that all these people and independent reviews and measurements can't be wrong. (And I'm a professional full time audio engineer by the way. I do both live sound and studio recording. My ears are my life, and they've served me very well so far.)

Look at it this way. You say you won't buy anything without listening to it first. OK that's a common and reasonable statement. Would you rather listen to something in your home, or in some store where you can't be sure the sound you're hearing will translate to your room, or even be sure the salespeople have set the equipment up right? SVS has a 45-day no questions asked money-back guarantee. So get the PB10, listen to it in your room, and if you don't love it, all it cost you to try it out was shipping charges. Consider it a 45-day rental! And I seriously doubt you'll want to part with it after you've heard it. These internet-direct companies like SVS, Hsu, Ascend, Axiom, they're amazing. Since they have a fraction of the overhead the big retail companies have, they can sell fantastic products at crazy low prices, and still provide great customer service.

If you're still not sure, check out their web site http://www.svsubwoofers.com. Call or email them. You can speak directly with one of the owners, Tom or Ron, and you'll see that nobody provides the kind of absolutely crazy customer service these guys do. They'll bend over backwards to make you happy.

And no, I don't work for them (though I'd love to). I've just never seen a company care about their products and their customers like SVS does. There ya go.

By the way, Hsu subs are amazing too (I have a VTF-2 Mk2, love it). I just feel the PB10-ISD is in a class of one and can NOT be beat for the price or anywhere near it. :)
