snarl, are you using your set up for mostly movies? The problem is with me for floorstandings as rears, is that they will be behind a couch i think so i think i need to elevate speakers to get them over the couch. Quite honestly it's a pretty good mix these days, I have my system running with Music most of the day (weekends mostly) and evenings in 5Ch Mode however I also watch a fair amount of movies so I truly find it very capable all around. My 7's (Rears) sit approx 39" Tall on the Spikes, my couch arms are about 24.5" Tall so thats about Mid-Woofer on the towers and altough I don't doubt thats less than Ideal it sounds great. With 5Ch Music the 11's dominate as I run the 7's about -6db (rear Channel Fade), audible from the couch but not overbearing. On movies 5.1 DD or DTS I run the rears around 0db, basically where auto calibrate on my Denon set them (Checked with a tape measure). Good Luck
